Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal data Wantio Web Studio processes about website visitors and people who contact us, and what rights you have. It is based on Article 13 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
Controller
The controller of your personal data is Wantio Web Studio, whose contact details are at the end of this notice.
What information we process and why
When you send the contact form, we receive the information you enter in it:
- name
- email address
- company name, if you give it
- phone number, if you give it
- the content of your message
We receive the same information when you email or call us. We use it to reply to your enquiry, and this processing is based on our legitimate interest in replying to messages sent to us. If you ask for a quote, we also use the information to prepare the quote and an agreement, in which case the processing is based on steps taken before entering into a contract. We don't use the information for marketing or make it available to others for their own use.
Giving the information is voluntary, but without a name and email address we can't reply to your message.
When you open a page, the server records your device's IP address, the time, the page opened and your browser identifier in its log. The log is used to deliver the pages and to investigate faults and misuse. The processing is based on our legitimate interest in keeping the site running and secure. The site has no cookies and no visitor tracking.
Who processes the information
We use three external services that process the information only on our behalf and are contractually bound to protect it:
- the hosting provider whose servers the site runs on and which processes the server log
- the form relay service, which delivers form messages to our email and checks the sender's IP address and email address with spam detection services
- the email provider whose servers store the messages
Transfers outside the EU
The hosting and email providers may process information in the United States, and the form relay service provider is based in India. The transfers are based on standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission and, for transfers to the United States, also on the Commission's decision on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The standard contractual clauses can be read on the European Commission's website, and you can also ask us for a copy.
How long information is kept
We keep enquiries in our email for as long as we need them, and for no more than two years. The form relay service deletes its own copy after three years at the latest. If an enquiry leads to a customer relationship, invoicing records are kept for the period required by the Finnish Accounting Act.
Server log entries disappear from our view after 30 days at the latest. The hosting provider keeps its own logs only as long as delivering the site, security and legal obligations require.
Your rights
You have the right to know what information about you is processed and to receive a copy of it. You can also ask for the information to be corrected or erased, or for its processing to be restricted, and you can object to the processing. If the processing is based on a contract, you can additionally ask for the information in a machine-readable format to move it to another provider. We respond to requests concerning your rights within one month.
The information is not used for automated decision-making or profiling.
If you believe your information is processed unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.
